Are You on Twitter?

Thanks to all of you who have sent comments about the Marketing Minds interviews. I've received some great feedback. (By the way, if you have a marketing-related topic you'd like covered in a future interview, send me your suggestion and I'll find an expert.)
One resource that's been essential to the success of the interview series is Twitter (http://www.twitter.com). It's allowed me to connect, build relationships and share resources with people from across the globe.
In addition, by simply following people within my industry on Twitter, I've discovered cutting-edge tools that make it easier to deliver my marketing message.
Here are two tools you might find helpful:
· Help a Reporter Out (http://www.helpareporter.com): Sign up for this service and you'll receive queries three times a day from reporters who need article sources. Every industry you can imagine is included in these requests. You won't find many easier ways to learn about media opportunities for your business.
· Jing (http://www.jingproject.com
): Video is a medium that's rapidly growing in popularity on the Internet. Jing allows you to capture images or record a video -- with audio -- of anything you see on your monitor. When your visual is finished, share it via e-mail, instant message, blog and, yes, Twitter. Before sending your link, consider a service such as BudURL (http://www.budurl.com), so you can see when and where your link is opened.
Twitter is changing the way people and businesses communicate. In fact, in some ways, it's even better than e-mail.
If you decide to set up your Twitter account, let me know by following me at http://www.twitter.com/tomtrush.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Sincerely,
Tom
P.S. All the tools mentioned above are free. Put in a little time and effort exploring these resources, and I promise you will be rewarded. There's never been a better (and easier) time to deliver your marketing message.
