Why Kindle Should Play a Part in Your Marketing Efforts

The process people use to gather information is always evolving.
Case in point ...
According to a study released last week by the Association of American Publishers, e-book sales in February -- for the first time -- topped all other formats, including paperbacks and hardcovers.
E-books (and their associated e-readers) have clearly found a place in people's personal libraries. In fact, some publishing experts predict e-book sales will comprise up to 25% of all book sales within the next 2-3 years.
If you use educational materials to market your business, this news should get you excited. After all, making your marketing materials available to an audience who enjoys reading on electronic devices is relatively easy and doesn't require a big budget (see my P.S. below).
In an article last August, I explained how to make your marketing materials available for Kindle and Amazon.com's roughly 67 million monthly visitors -- an audience that's about eight times larger than the population of New York City.
What's beneficial about Kindle is your marketing materials aren't only available to the device's users. They're also accessible on iPads, iPhones, Blackberrys, Android phones and many other mobile devices (even your Windows PC).
Furthermore, you can't argue with the instantly credibility that comes with being listed as an Amazon.com author. And, if you make your Kindle e-book available for purchase, the monthly checks from Amazon.com are a nice bonus, too.
Now, here's an important fact to remember ...
You only need a special report or collection of articles -- not an entire book -- to publish on Kindle and get listed on Amazon.com.
As a matter of fact, my most recent Kindle e-book is a special report. Here's the Amazon.com listing for How to Create a Powerful Marketing Message That Generates Leads: http://www.amazon.com/Powerful-Marketing-Message-Generates-ebook/dp/B004XQUYW6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1303753633&sr=8-4.
A major advantage of the free Kindle Direct Publishing platform at http://kdp.amazon.com is the ease at which you can make changes. You can adjust keywords, modify your description and even alter the text in your "e-book" whenever you want. You can even experiment with different price points.
And, since you don't have to worry about the demands of a publisher, you maintain complete control over your material. So you can even promote your products or services!

P.S. Even if you don't consider yourself a writer, you can become a published author on Amazon.com in a matter of days. In fact, though the Kindle Direct Publishing platform, you can get your work listed in as few as 24 hours. I've helped several clients write special reports and promise you the process is easier than you think. In many cases, you don't even have to write a single word.
