But the truth is, I’ve been ignoring you.
It’s been a little while since I shared any tips to my email lists.
You connected with me because you want fresh insight into making your marketing work.
Yet I haven’t delivered lately — at least in this form.
You see, I’ve spent much of the last year developing and implementing strategies inside several 7- and 8-figure businesses.
And experiencing some amazing wins.
Much of the focus has been on uncovering opportunities for greater engagement (especially from a marketing perspective), revenue and market share.
In this role as more of an advisor — rather than writing all the marketing copy — I keep seeing a lesson play out again and again.
It involves execution.
You see, the temptation to take shortcuts is strong with marketing.
The fact is…
Understanding a strategy and implementing it correctly are completely different ball games.
Too often someone within a company is relied on to carry out a new marketing initiative, but they lack the know-how needed to execute properly.
So they seek shortcuts — especially when it comes to lead generation.
Yet this doesn’t stop the expectation for fast results.
And when these results don’t happen, the strategy is labeled as something that “doesn’t work.”
You have to be careful here…
Again, knowing a strategy is not the same as knowing how to make that strategy work.
This is why having someone by your side with experience executing marketing strategies is so valuable.
The bottom line is…
You can’t rush the execution.
As a general rule, any new marketing strategy you apply to your business will take longer than you expect to produce results.
You have many variables involved — technology, messaging, testing, new channels, etc.
So if you wait until you’re in a desperate situation before trying something new, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Act early and be prepared with patience.
