What’s overlooked about 'quiet quitting'
Published: Fri, 09/23/22
No doubt, you’ve now heard the term “quiet quitting.”
Contrary to what it seems, the phrase doesn’t refer to quitting your job.
Instead, it describes quitting the practice of doing anything that goes beyond your normal job responsibilities.
Basically, you do your duties and nothing else.
Quiet quitters make up at least 50% of the U.S. workforce today, according to a Gallup survey.
Of course, when you’re a business owner or entrepreneur, quiet quitting isn’t really an option…
At least if you want to continue driving new growth.
You can’t just go through the motions.
You must keep elevating your game.
The problem is, during uncertain economic times, the business community historically gets nervous.
This results in budget cuts and lots of relying on hope to navigate the unknown…
As well as business owners who take on a wait-it-out mentality.
But when you do this, your team follows your lead — they do just enough to get by.
So the business gets stuck and loses momentum.
Then it’s even more difficult to bring in new clients and service existing ones at a high level.
On the other hand, committed entrepreneurs see the slim window open right now to grab market share and drive new growth.
They’re accelerating their marketing outreach and engagement with prospects/clients.
Which approach are you taking?
Remember, your team is closely watching what you do right now.
